Snowy Monaro Regional Council together with Upper Snowy Landcare Network invites you to attend a workshop on local native seed collection and propagation presented by Lyn Ellis.
The seed collection and propagation 1/2 day workshop will provide an introduction to native seed collecting and propagating in a way that is suitable for beginners but also of benefit to those who already have a familiarity with native plants and/or seed collection. Information will include:
- Overview of activities on Scottsdale by Phil Palmer, Reserve Manager
- Benefits and importance of local seed collection
- Tools and materials for seed collection
- Recognising different seed/fruit types and timing of collection
- Techniques to collect seed from a variety of plants
- Methods of seed processing, storage and record-keeping
- Methods of seed propagation and equipment
- How to make your own propagation mix
- How to care for your native seedlings
