Welcome to the Gaden Trout Hatchery Gone Fishing Day/Open Day! Join us for a great day exploring all things trout. Come see how we produce trout and salmon to boost fishing opportunities across some of NSW’s premier freshwater fisheries. Learn all about the process of breeding and stocking these highly popular international sportfish. There will be guided tours of our brand-new hatchery facilities, interactive displays, how-to fish sessions and even a chance to catch a hard-fighting brown or rainbow trout. It’s a great opportunity for the whole family to learn about fish production, the importance of the trout fishery to the Snowy Monaro region and to have a fantastic time in a spectacular location right on the mighty Thredbo River.
