FX FJ Holden Nationals Cooma 2022

FX/FJ HOLDEN NATIONALS IS COMING TO COOMA
‘Old Holdens will never die, because we love them’
It is expected that some 200 to 300 cars will be entered for the Nationals from all over Australia, which will bring a huge influx of car enthusiasts and visitors and provide a large benefit to Cooma and regional businesses.
The Cooma showground will be a focal point for viewing the cars on 29 December 2022, with days set aside for cars to do runs throughout the region.
The Nationals which were first held in 1977 in Tumut, are held every two years in various locations throughout Australia. All modified or stock Holden FX and FJ vehicles are welcome.
The Holden FX, which was originally designated Holden 48-215 was manufactured by General Motors Holden between November 1948 and October 1953. Development of the 48215 began in 1944 based on a design that was originally penned in the United States by Chevrolet. The term FX came into common use later to describe models with a new telescopic shock absorber front suspension introduced in 1953. The FJ, which was based on the 48-215 series, broadly followed the silhouette of its predecessor and was the second model of the “all Australian car” manufactured by Holden. The FJ sedan was manufactured in Standard, Business and Special trim levels. A coupe utility was announced in October 1953 which was followed by a Panel van derivative in December of that year.
