Dalgety Chamber of Commerce Sustainable Lands Expo
The Sustainable Land Expo is a community event organised by the Dalgety Chamber of Commerce to assist in educating local landholders on what it means to own rural land. It’s about managing land in a sustainable and productive manner that benefits not only the landholders but future generations. the event covers a number of topics and will be supported by the various business associated with the chamber, as well as other local businesses.
Due to COVID restrictions, this event will be limited to a maximum of 500 people. All public that attend the event will be asked to sign in for COVID purposes at entry.
Speakers will include:
– South East LLS: discussing the importance of biosecurity, compliance and pasture improvement. Speakers for the day will include Luke Pope, Jo Powell & Libby Stewart.

– Gordon Litchfield from Gordon Litchfield Wool: discussing sheep and wool production on the Monaro, the variance between breeds and the benefits of merino sheep.
– Martin Royds from Jillamatong: discussing erosion control, leaky weirs and soil health. Martin is well respected in his field of regenerative agriculture.
Demonstrations/ Q&As:
– Neil Lynch will be conducting a working dog demonstration followed by a Q&A showcasing the various stages of training with different aged dogs.

– Glyn Owen will be conducting a Q&A about the various types of property fences, with an exclusion fence on display for reference.
– Jeremy Winer from Weedtechnics will be conducting a Q&A on non-chemical vegetation management in conjunction with a demonstration on thermal weed control.

There will be a number of stalls present on the day including Southern Service Centre, South East Rural Supply Store, Snowy Mountain Infrastructure Company, Hans Over Snow, All About Auto, Jack Strap, Snowy Monaro Regional Council – Biosecurity, Upper Snowy Landcare Network, South East Local Land Services, LAOKO – Local Wildlife Rescue Group, Coonie Contracting Service
