Gaden Trout Hatchery

Gaden Trout Hatchery

The Gaden Trout Hatchery is a short 10 km drive from the centre of Jindabyne in the NSW Snowy Mountains, on 10  pristine acres on the banks of the Thredbo River.

The Snowy Mountains boasts some of the best trout waters in Australia.

Gaden Trout Hatchery is one of Australia’s main centres for breeding and rearing cold water sport fish. Rainbow Trout, Brown Trout, Brook Trout, and Atlantic Salmon are produced by the department and stocked into the dams and river systems of our trout fisheries in the snowy mountains, southern highlands, the central tablelands and New England areas.

The facility is run by NSW DPI Fisheries.
