Nimmitabel Remembers “Jigger”
Geldmacher House Museum presents ‘Nimmitabel remembers Jigger’ A greek inspired lunch to celebrate Jigger, the first Greek settler on the monaro 190 years ago.
23rd February 1pm
$30 adults
$15 children
Everyone welcome Bookings essential.
Funds raised will go to Geldmacher House Museum.
At 12.30pm a priest from the Greek Orthodox Community and Church of Canberra will perform a memorial service Trisagia” at the graveside in the Nimmitabel Pioneer Cemetery on Tom Groggin Road. All members of Nimmitabel community are welcome to attend and simple floral tributes would be appreciated.
Celebrations will then proceed to Geldmacher House where from 1pm there will be lunch, Greek dancing, a greek DJ will supply music and we are hoping “glendi” Greek dances will perform.
